Background of Automated Parking Garage
As the city becomes increasingly larger with growing population and vehicles, the vehicle amount in China reached 264 mln in 2015, with 154 mln cars.
Alongside the climbing vehicle amount, the lagged development of parking space planning in large and medium size cities has not only limited the development of the auto industry, but presented a serious problem of parking difficulty and at will.
As land resource is limited in urban area, an inch of the land values as much as an inch of gold. Requiring a large area for construction, flat garage is thus limited in expansion. To maximize the land utility, stereo garage can make the most of urban lands withthe same floor area to accommodate more cars in different levels.
While traffic jam is serious in cities, the traffic pressure is gradually turning from being dynamic to statistic. As the limited road mileage fails to deal with the increasing car amount, garage serves as a container and regulator. The decrease in improper parkingwill make the traffic smoother and give better play to the roads.
Only a coordinated development of dynamic and statistic traffic can eventually address the urban traffic jams. However wide the road is and fast the car runs, they finally will park. Parking space has become a shortcoming of traffic construction.

Development of Automated Parking Garage
Stereo garage emerged right after the 2nd auto industrial revolution. With the unprecedented boom and development of auto industry in Europe, the first stereo garages showed up in Europe. It's been over 6 decades since then.
Then in the 3rd revolution in auto industry, while Japan performed marvels in auto industry, stereo garages started to develop in Japan. It's been over 4 decades since then. At the same period, stereo garages turned up in South Korea and Taiwan, though later than Japan but still of 4 decades' history.
